Car Care Council Selects CABA to Improve Consumer Outreach
The aftermarket supplier industry provides several hundred thousand dollars a year to fund consumer outreach that encourages better car care. The national Car Care Council (www.carcare.org) has been providing public information to the press and various advertising materials for aftermarket product and service retailers since the 1970s but the benefits are very much under-utilized by small businesses.
CABA is one of three state trade associations selected by the Car Care Council to develop a process that will more effectively link locally-owned auto service centers, tire stores and jobbers to the consumers in their local markets.
To oversee this project, the CABA Board of Directors established a Task Force led by Doug Meekins of Brooks-Huff Tire and Dave Sutton of Standard Auto Parts.
The focus of the project, so far, is the production of multiple October Fall Car Care Month check-lane events across all of the Chesapeake region. Committed to the project so far are Montgomery College, The Community College of Balt County, Salisbury Automotive, Brooks-Huff Tire and Standard Auto Parts.
All CABA members including suppliers, wholesalers and service centers are invited to participate in this project as either a partner in one of the Community College check-lanes or with their own corporate promotional event.
